This major extension over two levels contains a separate sports court, gymnasium, group fitness, crèche, gymnastics hall, new entry, reception and administration offices.

The site comprises an existing four-court indoor sports hall, outside 50m pool, multi-purpose rooms and amenities. The facility extension had to maintain ongoing operation with minimal disruption to the users.

This project required a strong, urban design response to redefine the existing facility entry point and address the street. The timber screened form was a response to community demand for a building that provided visual relief and contrast to the steel and glass of the existing building.
