Jubilee Park Indoor Stadium

Frankston City Council
Frankston VIC, in Bunurong country
2023 anticipated completion
$31.4m contract value

Frankston City Council has engaged WRA for the design, documentation and delivery of the Jubilee Park Indoor Stadium. This development delivers a world-class netball / basketball stadium facility and hub for the community as well as adding female facilities to support the expansion of women’s football and cricket.

The replacement Jubilee facility will be located on the existing site, integrating with the surrounding land and will seek a 4 Star Green Star accreditation.

The six new sports courts will be designed to competition standard for netball, basketball, and volleyball. The development will also include a four-lane indoor cricket training facility, separate amenities for players and spectators, accessible change rooms and ambulant facilities, and retractable spectator seating for large events

The development will include a new entry and forecourt that has visual connection to events areas, café and kitchen and also to the new sports courts.

WRA engaged directly with the Bunurong Land Council and Bunurong artist John Winch, who prepared four graphic patterns to be interpreted in the building design. The pattern chosen depicts ‘the changing of waterways within Bunurong Country’ where the stadium is located. It was adapted into the main building screen and throughout the site and building signage, providing connection and opportunity for storytelling.
