The North Melbourne Football Club, Victorian State Government (Sport and Recreation Victoria), and the City of Melbourne jointly funded the building redevelopment of the facilities on the North Melbourne Recreation Reserve. The project scope includes high quality training and administrative facilities for NMFC, a range of multi-functional community service facilities and the State High Performance Fencing Centre.

Since opening, the redevelopment has been shown to support all users from elite AFL club-level, Olympic fencing, more than 1000 local gym members, to the local cricket club or just friends shooting a few hoops.
