Peninsula Aquatic and Recreation Centre (PARC)

Frankston City Council
Frankston VIC, in Bunurong country
2014
$50m contract value

WRA provided design, documentation through to construction services, and a Design Construct contract for the Peninsula Aquatic and Recreation Centre in Frankston.

The Pool Hall was developed as fully glazed form, enabling even distribution of natural light and views to and from Cranbourne Road. The glazed façade allows great visual connection between the pool hall and the street.

The facility incorporates two large format group water slides, both never before installed in an aquatic centre in Australia.

‘One of the things that strikes you is the universal design that has been implemented into this facility.
It doesn’t matter if you are in a wheelchair.
It doesn’t matter if you are elderly and frail.
It doesn’t matter if you are sight impaired, if you’re a young mum pushing a twin pram.
To get into this place, to experience this place, there is no barrier... every ability has been accounted for.’
