Having partnered up with local studio, Kennedy Associates to ensure a strong local appreciation and presence, extensive stakeholder consultation took place early in the project to clearly define the return brief including facility and operational requirements.
The redevelopment comprises:
Outdoor 50m x 8 lane pool
Outdoor water play area
Indoor 25m x 8 lane pool
Indoor warm water pool with accessible spa
Sauna
Café
Gymnasium, group fitness, spin and weights rooms
Group fitness outdoor areas
Wellness / allied health suites
Expanded carparking.
A strong focus on accessibility and inclusion provides easily navigable circulation spaces, accessible bathrooms and Changing Places facilities.
An extensive public art program run by Council has resulted in a new sculpture being commissioned for the project. The artist will work further with the design team embedding the artwork story through the centre.
