Jubilee Park Indoor Stadium

Frankston City Council
Frankston VIC, in Bunurong country
2023 completion
$35m contract value

Located on the existing centre site on Hillcrest Road, Frankston, Jubilee Park Stadium delivers elite netball / basketball facilities, indoor cricket training and a hub for the community. New female friendly facilities support the expansion of women’s football and cricket.

Opened in October 2023, the new development includes an entry and forecourt that connects the new facility to the existing outdoor netball courts and ovals. Entry into the building creates a visual connection to events areas, café and kitchen and to the new sports courts.

The six new sports courts were designed to competition and training standards for netball, basketball, and volleyball, with two courts being designed as a Show Court arena with retractable seating for 1,000 spectators.

The development also includes indoor cricket training facilities, oval AFL / cricket amenities for players and spectators, accessible change rooms and ambulant facilities.

Jubilee Park Indoor Stadium project involved two streams of Traditional Owner engagement. One was through the CHMP process which resulted in interpretative signage across the site and broader reserve being developed in close consultation with the Bunurong Land Council.

The other process was through engagement directly with the Bunurong Land Council and Bunurong artist John Winch who prepared four graphic patterns to be interpreted in the building design.

The pattern chosen depicts ‘the changing of waterways within Bunurong Country’ where the stadium is located.

It was adapted into the main building screen and throughout the site and building signage, providing connection and opportunity for storytelling.
