The Mercy College VCE Centre refurbishment provides a renewed VCE social space and study spaces with a landscaped courtyard, a new external lift and elevated walkway connection to the adjacent library for senior students.

The project was coupled with facade and street upgrades to improve the visual appearance of the College’s address to Sydney Road. A feature perforated, folded metal facade was installed over the north-west corner of the existing three story Clairvaux building, improving its appearance and providing sun-shading to learning areas. Shaded outdoor areas were created using perforated screens and canopies, resulting in serene learning spaces with a soft dappled light.

Along Sydney Road new garden beds, climbing vines and signage softened the existing fence, better reflecting the Mercy character to the wider community.
