Woodleigh School, VCE Centre
Woodleigh School
Baxter VIC, in Bunurong country

$2.1m contract value
The new VCE Centre extension nestles in amongst the existing trees on the edge of the slope to the creek. The strong existing architectural language of the site and the school’s aspirations for a sustainable building drove the design response.
The building was designed in two parts - the multi-purpose spaces and the VCE Centre. They were divided by an undercover walkway with ramp access. The multi-purpose space can be divided into two smaller spaces with an operable wall. The space was designed to house VCE exams.
Maintaining the strong circulation patterns and view lines through the campus to the bush landscape beyond were an important influence on the design.
